Several months ago we were contacted by a development company about assisting them with one of their projects. They had seen several of SWA Architects renderings on our website and contacted us about our availability to assist them with one of their upcoming developments. They planned to develop a casino on a parcel of land that they owned in Cancun, Mexico. Our primary objective was to design the Spanish Eclectic style exterior for the building and the site. We then created several renderings that the client could use to market the project to potential investors. The site is located along a picturesque lagoon along one of the main Cancun thoroughfares. The 160,000 square foot two level casino will set above an enclosed parking level with additional parking to be located to the rear of the facility. We also had done a conceptual rendering that were used by a Naperville church to discuss the feasibility of adding a Chapel to their existing facility. The rendering was part of the presentations to the congregation and the rendering of the Chapel was spliced into a photograph of the existing facility. From early on SWA Architects has been assisting clients with computer developed renderings of homes and commercial projects. Typically the renderings were requested to assist the owners to visualize their projects. SWA Architects can prepare preliminary design drawings and renderings to assist you with zoning approval, land planning or financing for your next project. Please call or email us to discuss your needs.
Read our SWA Blog where numerous articles about recent projects are posted. The most recent article by Gregg Stahr is a continuation of the "Going for the Green" series where we follow the design, construction, and certification of a NAHB Green Certified home in Wheaton under construction by JAW Builders. Catch up on previous articles, and as the process rolls on we will keep you updated with continuing posts.
Plan to join SWA on Saturday July 31, 2010 from 10:00am - 3:00pm for the 3rd Annual Elmhurst Green Fest! The Fest will be held at Wilder Park in Elmhurst, 225 Prospect Ave, Elmhurst, Illinois. Whether you are ready to start with one small change in your home or business, or if you've been living green and want to take your efforts to the next level, you'll learn how you can reduce your impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable community. SWA Architects will be an exhibitor and will discuss what homeowners can do to "green" their existing home or to think "green" when planning to build a new home or an addition or renovation to an existing home. SWA has donated a door prize for an in-home consultation to help you plan a strategy to green your home. Join us for a great day at Wilder Park; we look forward to seeing you.
Bill Styczynski was one of five judges that participated in judging the Residential Design and Build Magazine's 2010 Design Excellence Awards a few weeks ago. "The projects submitted were inspiring to review, varied in design and of very high quality", said Bill. "The level of detail in the entries was a pleasure to see." A preview webinar will be held on July 14, 2:00p.m.-3:00pm CDT, to reveal the winners -- more than a week before printed copies of the July/August 2010 issue hit the streets. Bill Styczynski and Mark Perlman, both judges, will be on hand to comment on why the 18 winning projects were chosen above others. We would like to remind everyone to visit our web site and blog. Come and view our postings on architecture, the construction industry and related issues. You can also follow us on twitter where we periodically post links to our latest Blog articles and other interesting information. |
