Our Team
A. William Styczynski, the company's founder President, is active in all aspects of the design process as well as the management of the firm. He has a diversified background, which includes commercial, industrial, retail and residential projects. A licensed architect with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, he has 28 years experience in the architectural field, including 3 years with Thomas E. Carpenter & Associates prior to founding the current firm.
He is also active in The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, and is a participating member and former President of the Custom Builders Council. Bill is a registered architect in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.
Thomas J. Fend, as project architect for the firm, Tom is responsible for the full range of architectural services from preliminary project feasibility analysis, through design, design development and the production of construction documents, including construction phase services. Working in the profession since 1979 with firms in Columbus, Ohio and the Chicago area, he has a wide range of experience on many types of projects including residential, commercial and civic. Tom has received numerous industry awards including numerous "Gold Key Award" and "Crystal Key Awards" from HBAGC and "Best in American Remodeling" award from Professional Home Builder Magazine.
Tom has also served as a speaker at the Northern Illinois Home Builders, Custom Home Building Seminar. He is a member of the Naperville Leads Club and the Northern Illinois Home Builders. Tom graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Environmental Design Degree and Study for a Masters in architecture at the Ohio State University. He was the design architect on the Naperville Station Town homes, the English Rows Town homes and Retail Center and the Ravichandran Residence.
Tess Kliros joined the firm in March of 1998. She previously helped run a family owned and operated retail business, before joining our firm as office manager. Tess handles the bookkeeping and the internal workings of the office along with the organization of the company.
Gregg Stahr joined the firm in May of 2002 as a summer intern and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in December of 2002. After graduation Gregg came back to a full time position in January 2003. Gregg has worked on numerous projects with the firm including Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale, IL, the Passero Condo's in Hinsdale, and is currently working on Washington Place Office Building in Oswego, IL.
ManHo Lam joined the firm in February 2003. Attended University of Cincinnati and graduated in 1998. Prior to joining SWA he worked in a leading engineering firm as lead designer. Experienced in large-scale projects and able to conceptualize and communicate complex concepts to clients through a variety of presentation style. He is currently responsible for 3-D photo realistic renderings created in the firm.
